Crele Penedesenca
What to Expect
Crele Penedesnecas are a rare and eye-catching Mediterranean breed known for their excellent foraging ability and dark brown bloomed eggs. They are active, hardy birds that do well in a variety of settings and make a great choice for both backyard flocks and breeding programs.
This line is selected for egg color, sound structure, and overall vigor. Crele Penedesencas offer a beautiful plumage that makes them auto-sexing, allowing chicks to sexed at hatch based on color and pattern.
Breeding Notes
Penedesencas may show a variation in plumage expression ranging from lighter, more dilute crele to darker, more heavily melanized individuals. This reflects the genetic diversity present within my lines but doesn't affect their autosexing abilities.
While Penedesncas are known for their carnation comb, not all of my hens are expressing it. Most chicks should have a carnation comb but there is a chance some will develop a clean straight comb.
