This year we are happy to offer two options for our Olive Eggers, Guaranteed Greens and Marans Backcross. 

🫒 Guaranteed Olive Eggers – Green Egg Genetics Assured

Our Guaranteed Olive Eggers are bred using carefully selected blue egg and dark brown egg genetics to ensure that all pullets will lay a shade of green egg.

This includes:

• Offspring from homozygous blue egg roosters crossed over green and brown egg laying hens
• Offspring from dark brown egg roosters crossed over blue egg hens

Because of these intentional pairings, every pullet will inherit the blue egg gene and brown pigment overlay needed to produce green eggs.

While the exact shade may vary , from lighter green to deep olive, all birds from this line are guaranteed to lay green eggs.

What to expect:
• A beautiful range of plumage colors
• Strong, productive birds bred with egg color as the priority

This line is perfect for customers who want colorful green eggs without the guesswork.

• Hatching eggs you receive can be green, brown, or blue. Chicks hatched will have the genetics to lay a shade of green

🥚 Marans Backcross Olive Eggers – Bred for Deeper Egg Color Development

Our Marans Backcross Olive Eggers are part of a selective breeding program designed to intensify and improve dark egg pigment by crossing Olive Eggers back to dark egg line Black Copper Marans.

This strengthens the brown pigment genetics and can lead to richer olive tones, but because this line is focused on darkening the egg color, offspring can lose the blue egg gene and may lay brown

What to expect:
• A mix of olive and brown egg layers (roughly half of each)
• Plumage color resembling Black Copper Marans

This line is best suited for those seeking those darker olive and brown egg shades.
